DONNERSTAG, 09 JUNI >> ST. BEAUFORT’S TABLE LIVE
“St. Beaufort’s Table LIVE at Donau 115″
This is the 3rd and final installment of the series. Trevor Bahnson will be joining the band as a special guest.
“A table, a bottle and a band. What happens next is anyone’s guess. But everyone is welcome at St. Beaufort’s table.”
Over the past year, the trio has established St. Beaufort’s Table: A mythic place of camaraderie, storytelling and mirth.
Traditional music sometimes means playing authorless songs, or – more than many admit – stealing songs from authors long passed, and singing loudly until they stick sweetly to your throat and become your own. This too has its roots at the table, where shouting drinkers and composers (warrior poets) come together to share their craft, conspiring, inspiring, perspiring. The bottle is a balm for a weary soul, but the song is the soul of the wearily bombarded…
Donau 115 is where the members of St. Beaufort first performed together. Now they’re back for a three-part residency. They bring the Table to Neukölln. It’s bound to be a jolly good time.

SAMSTAG, 11 JUNI >> KAYAN DUO (EDEN CAMI AND KENNETH DAHL KNUDSEN)
A minute before they enter the studio to record there debut album Kayan Duo is back to play in Donau115 !
KAYAN DUO is a unique vocal – bass duo, performing Arabic, Hebrew and English folk songs infused with improvisational elements. Swinging between times, genres and languages, combining sounds and rhythms from the Middle East and the European West, they bring their highly-personal musical statement through the refined sound of vocals and bass. The duo opens a door, through old folk tunes and original songs, to the inner worlds of two musicians coming from almost opposite backgrounds, who join on stage to communicate their stories and feelings, through music, for new journeys inside themselves and with the audience.
Eden Cami (IL&PS=♥) is a singer-songwriter born in a land of conflict. Living between two cultures and languages, she embraces them equally as her two mother tongues, tying together the two edges of their threads to celebrate the cultural wealth, often mistaken for an identity crisis, of every note and word of old and new tunes, intensified and warped carefully in the deep, warm sounds of the double bass.
Kenneth Dahl Knusden (DK) is a highly acclaimed composer and bass player, with feet planted firmly in the hard Scandinavian soil, and all other limbs stretching out far enough to reach the middle-eastern music, bringing it out in his own way. Walking step by step, steady and attentive to the tempestuous, caressing winds of a voice calling from the Middle East.
